Limitations, Installation & Compatibility:
- The free Version of Translator is a limited Version, which gives the individual Translator a tool, to translate web sites without knowledge of HTML, or other Internet languages.
- The software can load project files (a language independent file format, used by Translator), display them for translation and create the finished web sites.
- The free Version is not able, to create project files out of web sites
Installation:
- Start the Installer.jar program by double clicking it (Windows platform), or by typing:
'java -jar Installer.jar' in the DOS window.Follow the on screen instructions.
- The Installation will require you to connect to the Internet or, if you should be behind a firewall, offers you the choice, to send registration information by e-mail.
Compatibility:
- The software is tested extensively on Win98, Win98SE & WinXPpro. It is 100% Java compatible and should run on other platforms (e.g.Macintosh, Linux, Solaris...) without problems.
- It is recommended, to run Translator.jar with Version 1.4 of the Java Runtime Environment. Translator.jar is tested as well under JRE 1.3, but Version 1.3 seems to have problems displaying html pages. This affects the End Screen of the Installer and the Help Function in Translator. Also Version 1.3 doesn't support Wheel mice.
The software does not run under JRE 1.2
- Minimum recommended Hardware:
we have run the software successfully on an Intel Celeron 233MHz with 64MB Ram.
A Pentium 90MHz with 40MB Ram & Win98 was agonizingly slow, but it might run satisfactorily on this machine with Win95?
